Easy to locate along Natural Bridge. At 10:30 on a Sunday morning, we were able to park in the lot adjacent to the restaurant and were seated quickly. Coffee and water were served immediately. The restaurant and our table booth were clean and the decor was nicely done. Chicken and waffles were delicious, salty, and sweet. At $7.50 it was very reasonably priced. The food came out in an expected amount of time and staff was friendly. For a diner, the HVAC system worked notably well. It was well ventilated and I didn't smell like a diner upon leaving. I will definitely return.

Spectacular diner!!! I love when diners do ACTUAL diner food and do it well. I had the supreme chicken and waffles. The chicken was crispy and tasty. The waffle was fluffy. Also, if you like your eggs done in a myriad of ways, come here. I had mine basted and they were perfect.

Tried the two piece chicken dinner plate and it was really good, minus the "vegetable of the day," which was just canned mixed veggies. Also reasonably priced. Only real drawbacks are how small it is and the parking. Other than that, great place for lunch.

I can't add anymore to the reviews that have already been written. The food is a good as they say, period. Will I come back? Heck, Yeah!

We stopped here on our way out of St. Louis and I'm glad we did! This place was great. The old school dinner feel was all over. They had the best customer service from the second you walk in all the way until you leave! The host was such a nice gentlemen and the waiters were just as nice! I ordered the chicken and waffles and this combination here was the best I've ever had! Will definitely come back the next time we come to visit!!!

a St. Louis classic diner. Everytime I come here I have to visit Goody Goody. It has been here for decades for a reason. The food doesn't dissappoint. Try anything on the menu, your taste buds will thank you.

Fried chicken. Waffles. Biscuits-n-gravy. Family owned. Friendly staff. WELL WORTH THE WAIT.

This is an awesome diner full of patrons on a weekday at 10 am. Clean diner decor attentive staff fast with the coffee which was good coffee. Seemed like it took a little longer than I expected for food to arrive but it was Absolutely worth the wait best fried chicken and waffles I ever had grits were creamy and perfectly seasoned as was the biscuits and gravy the portions are large and we shared and still took some home we were all in full tummy haze

All I have to say is Chicken and Waffles! Don't forget to get it supreme style. You will be full and happy. This might be the best food idea on the planet earth...it was so good! I don't usually add hot sauce to my chicken, but my world has been transformed for the better. I don't think I can ever eat any other fried chicken or hot sauce ever again. My friend got the egg salad sandwich...why the f*#k would you order that when the chicken is so good?!? He said the egg salad was really good. I don't doubt him, but you can't trust a man that doesn't get fried chicken when the option is there and it is that tasty. We went on a Sunday early afternoon and there was a line out the door. We gladly waited for a half an hour or so. It was worth the wait and there isn't enough space for too many people to stand or sit while you wait. Once we were sat our waitress got our drinks quickly and our order. The wait for the food was not long for how busy the place was. These people know how to run a busy restaurant! Even though every table was taken and there were people still waiting to be seated we had really great service. I didn't get a refill on my iced tea, but they dropped off water for everyone. I forgive you, but only because the chicken is so good and the place was packed. I'll be back very soon Goody Goody!

So check it out. I been going here for over 5 years specifically for Chicken & Waffles but it has been awhile. My last time was 1.5 years ago. Things have changed since my last visit!! My biggest gripe was the chicken was good, but not great. It was somewhat dry. The flavor was ok. The next request was for belgian waffle style waffles. I came back today and I GOT what I wanted. The chicken was juicy, had a bit of a spice flavor from the visible pepper embedded into the fried skin, the servings were large, and inside the skin fell away from the bone quite easily. I like how they gave me hot sauce with my order. The waffle wasn't skimpy at all. It was a whole Belgian waffle! Syrup bottle and a jug of water at my table. The Chicken & Waffles half chicken will run you about $10.50. This was more than enough for a party of two people. Never mind if you are one of the only NON-African American patrons. The only thing better than this is Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles back home in Los Angeles for me. Even in LA, the waffle isn't a Belgian waffle. I posted some pics.

We love this place! This morning, my wife and I, split a delicious Greek Omelet. The entire atmosphere here is great. Eclectic crowd, friendly servers, huge portions of delicious food at reasonable prices. If you haven't been to Goody Good you're missing out on one of St. Louis's landmark eating establishments!

Just paid our first of many visits to Goody Goody's. How have I lived in this city for fourteen years and never been to this restaurant before? Well, now it's a new favorite. Chicken and waffles cannot be beat, and Goody's beats all the offerings I've tried anywhere! Light, fluffy waffle. perfectly seasoned, well-drained, moist and juicy fried chicken--my mouth waters at the memory, and I'm still full. The menu is extensive and very tempting, but it may take me years to get my fill of their chicken and waffles. They do things well here. The personnel are professional, efficient, and friendly (not easy to manage when you're as busy as they were on this Saturday morning). The only things keeping me from giving a five-star rating are the peripherals - the lack of real cream for coffee, real butter for waffles and real maple syrup. But these are small sacrifices, and the flavor and quality of everything else makes up for them very nicely. Next time I'm getting there at opening time, and I'm getting a Goody's pen.

The food was great and the service even better! His cute little diner offers some great options for all. My veggie omelet was bursting with veggies and the potatoes were so tasty! Gotta try it.

Chicken and Waffles Quest continues! The number one positive omen for Goody Goody is that they have an entire page of their menu devoted to the joy that is C+W. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, wonderfully juicy, and has a perfect layer of breading. Unfortunately, it could have stood to be drained a little longer after hitting the fryer, but hey, who am I to judge. Perfect with some hot sauce. Plus you have a choice of white or dark meat (dark forever!). They do lose points for using "syrup" and not maple syrup. Total bummer. Standard waffle, nothing to write home about. Really, the waffle is just a vehicle for beautiful fried good(y)ness here.

Best food ever!! The omelet was great, the biscuits are to die for, the grits are good & creamy---chicken & waffles are fantastic, hash browns with onions so crisp & flavorible! Anything you eat there...will have you coming back for more...However, I'll have to wait until my next visit :-( because I'm from the "D"!

I work in the area. I went to Goody Goody for the first time today. It was freaking delicious! I got a cheesy omlette with bacon, skillet hash browns cooked extra crispy, and toast with peach preserves. I was in breakfast heaven. The omlette was generously prepared and the hash browns had a taste that made me crave them all morning. I will admit, its a meal of salty coma-inducing delight...which is just what I wanted. I will go again and again and again.

I always thought Goody Goody was closed because no cars were ever outside when I passed. Well, on my last visit home, I told my cousin I wanted chicken and waffles and she suggested Goody Goody. I was in the car in 5.27 minutes. Chicken and Waffles tempt me beyond... Like... I'm going to try it whenever it's on the menu. I don't care if the menu is of two choices... chicken and waffles or golden nuggets... I'm getting chicken and waffles. So.. we arrive to an extremely long line. Mostly to-go's. We're seated promptly and our server was sweet as could be. The place was crowded and cramped. Typical diner - which is good, imo. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of mac n cheese. The mac n cheese is nothing to write home about. Took one bite and left the rest. The main attraction, however, was seriously delicious. I ate all of it sans the wing I gifted to my cousin. Seriously, if you can do without the fancy... go to this gem and get some soul food. The -1 is for the mac n cheese (needed less velveeta and more sharp cheddar) and the grime in the window seal...OMFG I wished I never looked.

Goody Goody is def one of my fav places to get a good breakfast. In fact it might be my fav place. Clearly everyone goes on and on about the chicken and waffles which is good...not the best..but good. HOWEVER there are seriously some really delicious other items of the menu. Shall I introduce you to the catfish fillet and grits. It is the best! They cook the catfish perfectly and you get eggs and two sides. Seriously enough food for even the hungriest of patrons. The atmosphere is fun and has a family feel. All of the servers are super friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

O M G...why has it taken me so long to find you?!?!?! Is it the best food I've ever had? No...but it's def one of the best places in StL. You just can't go wrong with chicken and waffles. I was more excited when I saw the waffle was a BELGIAN waffle, not some lil frozen Eggo waffle. And then to make it even better, the server brings over HEATED syrup...yumm. I had the 2-piece fried chicken with waffle + supreme (i.e. eggs & hash browns) - the chicken pieces were big and not overly breaded. The skin was a tad on the salty side but since the pieces were so big, it gave the meat plenty of flavor once all the skin/breading was gone. The hash browns were great - the potatoes were not overcooked and had plenty of flavor. This is the 1st place I've seen a list of how you can get your eggs. I'm not talking scrambled vs over easy - I'm talking a list of every possible style you can think of (hello - did you know there are 4 different ways to get your eggs scrambled??? THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME SOME OPTIONS!). The biscuits and gravy were pretty good - although on the salty side, this place has one of the better gravies we've had in the area. The biscuit itself was great. I am def a fan - this place would get 5 stars if it didn't involve crazy wait times (we got there before 10AM on a Saturday and only got away with not waiting bc 2 seats opened up at the counter). It would be difficult to come here with a large group. However, it's still a favorite now and I'll def become a "regular" if I can wake up early enough. P.S. This place is closed after 2PM, so don't sleep in too late!

My friends and I went to Goody Goody before Christmas. We got there around 12 pm. There was a wait of about 40 minuted before we were seated. By this time, we were so hungry from watching all the food leaving the kitchen as it came by us. We were seated at a table facing Natural Bridge Rd. We had been studying the menu for so long that I think we knew what we wanted. I had the porkchop breakfast plate, my friends had the chicken and waffles. Everything was so delicious. I can't wait to go back. I will say that you had be very very hungry to finish the chicken and waffle plate. I am not even talking about the Supreme version of this which comes with eggs and a side. One of my friends even ordered the half order and she couldn't finish it. My pork chop plate was perfect. The pork chops was cooked perfectly. I had eggs over medium with it and hash browns and pancakes. It was perfect. Goody Goody is definitely worth the wait. So plan on waiting unless you get there when they open.

Goody Goody is pretty all right. I always like seeing a guy in a suit, fedora, and alligator skin shoes getting really into a plate of grits. And I like a place that will serve a nice catfish for breakfast, even if the breading is a bit heavy. My grits were good, as well. Eggs were undercooked for the order. The biscuit, however, was a standout. It made me really annoyed that they only had "butter product" and Smucker's Apple Butter type condiments. It turned out not to matter. This is the best biscuit I've ever had. I might have liked jam, but a really good biscuit can be savored on its own. Nice, prompt, and attentive staff, as well. We sat next to a large family. The waitress remembered first serving the dad, "oh, it must have been 25 years ago." This should be the norm in America.

Three words: Chicken and Waffles. Oh. YEAH. I've been wanting to try Goody Goody forEVER, but I never really got around to doing it until recently. What was I waiting for?!? We arrived around 11am on a Saturday, and it was packed! We had about a 20 minute wait. Once we were seated, our super friendly waitress brought out drinks and the menu. Psssh, menu, schmenu -- I already knew what I wanted! But I gave the menu a quick glance, anyway. Lots of diner staples: eggs, hashbrowns, potatoes, pancakes. The usual. Anyway, I ordered the chicken and waffles. Fried chicken + belgian waffles = heaven. It was a TON of food, but it was all delicious. The waffles were cooked perfectly, and had a touch of sweetness. The chicken was hot, juicy, and had just a touch of salty flavor. I drowned both in sweet maple syrup and went into a food coma right then and there. It was something you have to experience for yourself. I can't put it into words! Goody Goody isn't surrounded by the best neighborhood, but I never felt unsafe while I was there. Will I be back? Of course I will!

Note to self. Don't ever get a hamburger here. The burger itself was really thin. Pretty much thinner than McD's regular hamburgers. Big delish bun, but not sooo great burgers. The fries looked like they came from a frozen fry bag that you can get a grocery stores. Again, service was fantastic.

What can I add? Been going here awhile and it's always the same. Very friendly staff AND patrons. This is not a dirty dive-ish diner, but sparkling clean. There's usually a wait to get in even though there is a large dining area, but they take care of folks quickly. The waiters are never thrown by a strange request - get it just how you like it. The menu is a combo of diner staples, waffle house, and some soul food and local stuff thrown in to boot. The BBQ burger with slaw on it was good, too bad I became a vegetarian! My only complaints are the lack of vegetarian items (although diners and breakfast type places are never really that tough for us) and lack of late hours.

I wanted to slap my husband for not bringing me here sooner....he is from pine lawn.....I'm from Texas....I've heard a lot about this place and about the long lines and long wait.....we came on the perfect day at right time...seated quickly...after they took our order they brought my two yr old is food first ..pancakes...he loved them...anything we needed they got it for us...one of us got chicken wings and waffles....the wings were huge...I got chicken fried steak with sausage gravy...was very flavorful, tender, and big. Lots of food for reasonable prices. Highly popular and busy. Good service and owners were visable and took pictures with customers. Will be going back.

This place is amazing! We went on a Saturday and it was absolutely packed but service was excellent and all of the staff were incredibly, genuinely friendly. The Goody Goody has a wonderful down to earth vibe. And the food did not disappoint. I will admit I never understood 'Chicken and Waffles' or its appeal and then last night, slightly inebriated, I got a hardcore craving for waffles and all of a sudden realized that fried chicken is a genius pairing. So I woke my husband up this morning and we went for breakfast. I am making a very thoroughly contemplated statement when I say that this was the best fried chicken I have ever had in my life. The waffles were amazing, with REAL butter not margarine. Hashbrowns, A++, my husbands biscuits and gravy were incredible. Our scrambled eggs were very fluffy and perfectly flavored. We like our eggs more well done at home but that's not Goody Goody's fault, they made them how they're 'supposed' to be made. Our server Audrey was sweet and attentive. Oh, and... Goody Goody is non smoking! Woohoo!

Let this be known, it's near the Walnut Park area aka the worst area in STL for safety. I used to work down here and I would not be here after 5PM. Hence, I would only eat at Goody Goody for lunch because there are not many options in this neck of the Lou. That being said, food is always good, owners are always nice and they are always busy. I adore the chili and the fried chicken. Breakfast is a hit 247 there.

The Goody Goody has the best fried chicken in town! No joke. White meat or dark meat, it doesn't matter- it's all super juicy and perfectly seasoned. And, when you pair this up with a delicious Belgian waffle and warm maple syrup, it's the perfect combination of sweet & salty, crunchy & soft. All my favorite attributes, all on one plate! The staff is extremely friendly and always accommodating at the Goody Goody. Be sure you get there before 9:30 on a Saturday morning- the line stacks up quickly and will wrap around the building.

The North Side's answer to Courtesy Diner. I thought we did it right down here until I dated a guy that insisted I trade in my butter painted toast and slingers and try out the grits and chicken at Goody-Goody instead. It was probably the only worthwhile thing I got from dating that guy, but hey, it was a pretty darn good tip. This place is so kitchy and cool. It really feels like you are entering a diner from the days of Grease. The old sign still looks down on the place from outside and the waitresses are incredibly nice and friendly. My first trip to Goody-Goody I was still a carnivore and the menu allowed for plenty of delicious, greasey, breakfast meats...but now that I am a off the meat, the menu is still varied enough and the servers completely understanding of my dietary wishes. Oh and no worries, the slinger still makes an appearance on the menu.

I'm allergic to eggs, and most places that I go to for breakfast typically act insulted when I ask for the eggs to be held. This is not so here. The nice lady serving us was very gracious, and even substituted two slices of bacon for the two eggs for me - and it was her idea! This diner is great, and it really does look like and is a diner - booths and all. I think that a lot of people here are regulars, because there was playful bantering going on between two booths, a distant table and two workers. Everyone was so happy and kind, and best of all the food was great! My breakfast pork chops were breaded to perfection.

I was looking forward to a great breakfast here, but there might be more excitement than it deserves. The chicken & waffles are supposed to be legendary but I'd have to politely disagree. Okay, maybe I was spoiled by Roscoe's in L.A. the week before, but there's more to it. It was great to walk past everyone waiting for a table and sit immediately at the counter. The service was quick at first. Coffee came shortly after sitting down and our order was taken right after. I understand that they have many customers to serve but it seemed to take unusually long for the food to arrive. The grits had a skin on them but that disappeared as soon as I added butter & honey. Eggs and the fried chicken came at the same time as the grits. Hey, where's my waffle? Honestly, 5 minutes later the waffle came and it was so cold the butter I put on it never melted. At that point the coffee refills started to drop off significantly. The chicken was alright- nothing sensational about the taste, actually kind of bland. All in all, good food, good service but nothing out of the ordinary.

Friendly service and a classic diner feel. The place just says tradition the minute you spot it from Natural Bridge. Had breakfast there and it was great although everyone tells me that lunch is when you really need to go to fully experience Goody Goody.

This has to be one of the friendliest places I've ever eaten. We waited for about 15 minutes in the tiny, crowded entryway and were seated at a table inches away from another table on either side. But either the fellow sitting next to us was the mayor, or they really know how to treat a single fellow here. One waitress complimented him on his sweater, a busboy slowed down to ask him what book he was reading, the host came by to see if he was taken care of and to wish him a good day. Seriously, if you like good company, this is the place for you. The waffles, by the way, are excellent: light, crisp, and with a touch of malt flavor. The coffee is good and hot, and the fried chicken is lightly-breaded and moist. All of the sides I've tried have been just a touch better than they absolutely needed to be. And it's friendly. Did I mention that? One tiny correction: someone mentioned the great location. If you've always wanted to eat near lots of refinery tanks and boarded up buildings then, yes, this is a great location. If not, then you'll drive by and think, "Should I park my car here? And if I do, should I get out?" You should. This is one of the worst-looking patches of Natural Bridge, but this place is a rose among thorns. Park, come on in, and enjoy yourself.

A great old time diner that is a hold over from years gone by. The service was great and food was wonderful. The neighborhood might look sketchy, but don't worry - just go and have a good time. Expect to wait during the lunch hour but don't wait too long - they are only open until 2pm. I had the 1/2 fried chicken and waffle. The chicken breast was so big I had to save it for later. They were both excellent. My wife had the chicken fried steak - also excellent.

Had a wonderful breakfast here. I was first greeted by the host and he had me laughing (and everyone waiting also) within 30 seconds. Food was great, and even my order was correct (I'm often a pain in the butt). Coffee refills were plentiful and the people were just extremely friendly. Would gladly return.

Nostalgia, friendly staff, and good food. What more could we want with a diner? 1st off I already want to go back to try their chicken and waffles. We walked in on a BUSY Sunday morning and were greeted promptly. We expected a wait but being a 2 top we slid in quick. The host was funny, friendly, chatted with regulars and newbies keeping everyone entertained. We were seated and served quickly. The busboy and server were both friendly. Our drinks were never left empty and the food was amazing. We had coffee to start. Which seemed a little above average for regular diner coffee. The hubs and I both had the veggie omelet @ $9.85 - mushrooms, green pepper, tomato, broccoli, and Monterrey Jack. The hubs had hash browns and a biscuit. I had grits and raisin toast. I also had a side order of bacon - just to try it. Everything was filling and tasted great. As stated earlier, we will most def be back!

I really am not that much of a fan of here. I came here after reading about the chicken and waffles, but the menu was so large that I forgot that I was there to order the chicken and waffles. The dish they are known for isn't prominently displayed at all. I ended up ordering the country fried steak and eggs, with hash browns. I was asked if I wanted cheese on the hashbrowns, to which I thought why not? That was a huge mistake as I got a lukewarm processed cheese sauce that tasted of nothing. That aside the steak and eggs themselves were pretty good. The other major porblem I had was that my coffee and water cups both went empty. I want to try the chicken and waffels but I don't think I can bear a return visit here.

I couldn't wait to eat here. My husband searched for a dive joint and found this place. They are known for chicken n waffles and their overly friendly host who, goes out his way to make your stay an enjoyable one. We all ordered the five piece chicken wings with waffles. My son played it safe side by ordering pancakes, eggs and bacon. The portions were huge, I took my first bite and was disappointed, the chicken lacked seasoning. Awww... Man! C'mon!! Salt and pepper just can't cut it, not with fried chicken. Ok, I digress.. Moving on, the waffle was next, it was like our experience thus far, flat and taste like flour. My son's scrabbled eggs was cold and his bacon, burnt. Our entire meal was boring, no highlights and certainly nothing to write home about. I tried ordering sweet tea, I knew better the moment the words left my tongue. I was no longer in the south. Of course there is No sweet tea! That was more than this southern/Caribbean gal could handle, it was time to leave. I'm out!!!

My sister and my dad suggested goody goody for the chicken and waffles and boy it did not disappoint. The wings are large but could be a little more seasoned but still crispy. The waffle melts in your mouth. Outside of the food, the wait to get the food was really quick, and the staff was extremely personable. We liked so much that when my other sister came in and my mom, we took them there. If you are flying into the St. Louis airport please stop by if you have time, it is only about 10 min away.

Amazing! This is one of the reasons I love St. Louis. There are so many gems in this city and this place is a force to be reckoned with. I was slightly nervous initially to drive there, but to my friends reassured me that it would be a magical experience. The workers here are so hospitable and kind. And the food, we'll let me just say I saw rainbows and unicorns, truly magical! A diner that has been open since 1948, has a reason to be standing still today, and I figured out why after my experience. Typical diner atmosphere but the food was way beyond your steak and shake eats. We all shared, cheeseburgers, mashed potatoes, chili mac, chicken and waffles. Yes the combination sounds like a strange array of mixed foods, but I almost was tearful when the food so easily was eaten up and there wasn't any more left. Let me just say it's worth the drive, and I will be returning over and over again!

What a find in St. Louis. Thanks to my fellow yelper. We found this place searching on yelp. Came here on Friday morning around 9 am and there was short wait already. I think this place stays busy and I would guess wait is longer on the weekends. Host was hilarious and all the server was friendly. It's a hole in a wall place from outside but it's a solid place for breakfast. My father in law had to eat right away for his medication. We didn't mention to our server but apparently she overheard us talking and she brought his food right away! Extra points!

Oh. My. God. I have only eaten one thing on my two visits here and may be adventurous one day and try something else, but I may just stick to my fried chicken and waffles. I had the six wings and one waffle breakfast meal and truly, this was fried chicken from the gods....and yes, my fat azz knows some good fried chicken. The waffle was light and tasty and my husband's omelet was also good....he said, I didn't even want to try it. :o) The host, Sly who meets you at the door, is truly the icing on the cake for this little joint. He is super sweet, offers to sell you little pen with the diner's name on it for a dollar and then if they're not busy, (which is rare I think) he will ask you to put a pin on the big map in the waiting area to show where you're from. The bus boys are quick with drinks, very professional and polite, the servers can be hit or miss. If you get a slow server, be prepared to wait. The joint fills up fast and the little lobby can be hell getting through but dammit, that fried chicken is so worth it!!!!

I don't know where to begin. Parking- easy Establishment- cute as can be Host-incredibly kind and very entertaining Menu-endless possibilities of amazingly delicious food and very affordable Waitstaff- quick, efficient and very personable Food- OMG....I might have dreams about this food. We had tastes of everything from waffles, bacon, chili, biscuits and gravy, country fried steak, the hobo bowl, chicken and waffles, etc. And everyone raved about the food. It wasn't "oh that was a satisfying meal" it was "wow that food was incredible!" We had a lot of empty plates at our table. We are in town for an event and have some family here, with some visiting like we are. Some of our family had been there and loved it so that's how we ended up going. Everyone who was a first-time visitor agreed that this is an absolute must do next St. Louis trip. I would have gone back for dinner if I could have.

Sooner or later I will try something else on their menu, but for now I am satisfied with ordering their Chicken and Waffles every time. As stated in a previous review, I try to order something different every time, but when the waitress ask me what I want, "Chicken and Waffles, all white meat, please", comes out of my mouth. I always enjoy the hash browns, eggs, 1/2 waffle and chicken wing. The breast, which is always huge I take home to enjoy for lunch later in the day. I wish after GGD closes at 2pm, that they'd re-open at 5pm and serve this amazing fried chicken for dinner, but I am happy to thrilled to enjoy it as my breakfast meat. The service here is always classic diner, friendly. Marica my most recent server, was a true jewel. Everything here is always pristine. The bus boys' white shirt even pressed and more crisply starched then a county courthouse lawyer. I know I keep repeating myself, but Goody Goody Diner serves up the BEST Chicken and Waffles. If you haven't experienced it, I highly recommend you go today or tomorrow morning. Don't be scared on the neighborhood, it is totally safe and it is all part of the charm.

I've been going to Goody Goody's for over 20 years & have NEVER had a bad dining experience. The service is excellent. Most of the staff are long time employees and work well together. It's family owned.. It's not unusual to find one of the owners running food or clearing tables. The food is winderful. It good home cooked food. You don't have to explain you like your bacon crisp...It comes that way bit not burned or hard. The fried chicken is crisp and they have one of the best bacon cheeseburgers I've ever tasted. Every person I've taken there for the 1st time always looks forward to going again. They will accommodate a group but you should call ahead. Even when it is crowded people are smiling as they wait. They know they are in for a treat.

I have never had a bad experience here...great food. I had the Demi breakfast which consisted of 2 slices of bacon, 3 pancakes, and scrambled eggs. Just enough to start off my morning.

The host is hilarious and nice but the food is just OK. My co workers ordered the chicken and waffles and they were disappointed. I ordered a a chicken salad I mean the salad was ok. You really cant mess up a salad. Went there again and ordered a burger and it was just OK. Nothing really special about the burger.

Starting off the day at the Goody Goody Diner. Staff are awesome. From the time they seat you to time you leave they are there when you need them and not there when you don't. I love that. They help each other out too, clearing plates or pouring coffee. Great sense of ownership. Looking for something different? I tried the Hobo Breakfast Combination. One bowl filled with scrambled eggs tossed with onions and tomatoes, topped with sausage pieces and home-style hash-browns. Cover it all with white gravy and melt cheddar cheese on top. I felt my arteries harden as I slipped into diner- style culinary bliss... If I were behind the counter, I would add chopped bacon to it and take it all the way to awesomeness. Served with 3 dollar pancakes that are more like salad plate sized, cooked to perfection and served with warm syrup. The coffee stayed filled and the service was the star. Definitely check this place out if you're in the neighborhood.

Although I have lived in Saint Louis for quite some time, I did not hear about the Goody Goody Diner until about a year ago, and just got there for the first time two weeks ago. My friends and I went there for lunch around 11:30 AM, and found the place packed, and wound up parking on the street as the lot was full. Please do not be deterred by this, as it is worth any difficulty you may have parking, and the waits are short. We checked in at the front desk, and stood around for about 15 minutes until a table was available. Having read the Yelp reviews, I knew I was going for the chicken and waffles (2 piece dark meat and half a Belgian waffle). My friends got a fish sandwich and a fried chicken platter. The chicken was crisp on the outside, juicy (but perfectly done) inside. The waffle was the big surprise: It was feather-light, what you would expect if you used tempura batter to make a waffle. Absolutely delicious and, with syrup, the perfect accompaniment to the chicken. My friends were equally pleased with the fish sandwich and chicken platter, and we agreed that we would have to get back here again soon. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Definitely going back. Those biscuits are so fluffy and huge. The waffle was so light and crispy. Service was very good. Hash browns are diced potatoes (which I prefer over the other kind). It was hard to decide what I wanted from the menu. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because floor was dirty and $4.15 for a 6 oz glass of OJ?!! That's outrageous. Only got it because it said $0.95 on menu. My husband is a St. Louis native, and I'm making him go with me very soon because he hasn't gone!

The BEST diner in town! Come in, sit at the counter, and order ANYTHING! The coffee is delicious and the servings are very generous at a great price.

This was an easy 5 star for me ... which is always based on overall food, service and atmosphere. The classic small diner (although bigger than it used to be I was told), far from the county lines, a place you have to go search out if not familiar with it. I was able to sit at the counter, which I only found out after putting my name on the wait list and later someone came along and said they could sit at the counter ... so I did too. I ordered the chicken and waffles (half chicken and half waffle) and took the grits and eggs upgrade. I ate every bit of this meal and enjoyed it and I don't usually eat that much at once. The best part of the food was actually the grits, perfectly made and I have had my share, with lots of melted butter one of my favorite all time foods. The chicken was a bit darker fried but still very good and the waffle was cooked exactly as it should be. I want this again. They really nailed it all, very rare in my experience ... from the diner atmosphere, to the excellent attentive wait staff, to the great diner food in a location that just adds to it's authenticity. Everyone needs to go here at least once.

The host was kind and funny. However, a little to pushy to sell a dollar pen as a "souvenir". The establishment was old looking which is okay, it's within a not so desirable part of town, and the parking is not very accommodating. The wait staff are decent, as you would expect however, if they are 'short staffed'. Lucky told us numerous times that "there is only two of us working".... This was not true there was at least 7 we counted. It did take over 20 minutes to get our drinks, 45 minutes to get our food and 5 minutes to get our check. We paid with cash to avoid another lengthy wait time. The food you ask? Meh! The pancakes tasted like they were once froze, and nuked for two minutes to long. The hash browns were really diced potatoes- would i recommend this place. Sorry but no I would not. I was severely disappointed.

Service was great. Unfortunately the food was yuck. The eggs did not taste like fresh cracked eggs. No fluff The pancakes were hard and plasticky. The catfish was gummy. Chicken wing needed a lil bit more spice. However the greeter was very nice and accomadating. The waitress was timely and polite. But I won't return.

Went in for breakfast on our way out of town today because it is one of our daughter's favorite places. It had a very small town, honey feel which we liked. The staff all seem very friendly whether you're a regular or a first-timer. We saw the owner walking around checking things out and helping where needed. Hubby said the coffee was very good and refills were plentiful. There are lots of pictures on the wall to look at and the restaurant is very clean and well maintained. Our server, Jan did a great job taking care of us and placing our orders in a way to get the best price we could, which was appreciated and unexpected and something we didn't have to ask her to do. Dave also did a wonderful job with keeping our drinks full. Hubby had the chicken and waffles and thought it was all very good - the chicken was some of the best he's had. Sarah had the pancakes and they were plenty big and were fluffy as well. I had the veggie omelet and asked for it dry - it came out perfect. The presentation was great as well - lots of fresh veggies on the plate as well as in the omelet. We will definitely be back when we are in town and I would love to check out the lunch menu.

Hmm I've never written a review for Goody Goody? Well let me fix that now. My family has lived in the neighborhood since the 60s and the owners (who retired just this week) lived across the street from my grandparents for decades. So I'm no stranger to dining in this establishment. The salmon croquet is always seasoned to perfection and the waffles are great as well. I haven't had a dish I didn't enjoy. Everyone is kind and many have been working here for years and years so they create a relationship with the regular customers. The new owners are currently walking around the establishment with the previous owners still in place (busy at work). That makes me feel good about the change as far as this place remaining the same with quality food and service. Time will tell.

I really enjoyed my recent visit to Goody Goody. It was my first time there and I had actually never heard of it. Anyway, they have the best best best customer service ever! From the time you come through the door until the time you leave, youre treated with the utmost respect and attentiveness. The guy that takes your name at the front door (Sly is his name) was awesome and very people oriented. The owner came to the front while we were waiting to greet us and asked did we want any water while we wait. The servers were very friendly and patient. Everyone I was with enjoyed their food. Although there isnt anything extra special about the food to me. It was good though and you get a very generous amount for a very low price. I recommend you try this place out if you are in the area

I have been wanting to try this place for a while and I am so glad I did. The chicken and waffles are amazing, this chicken is above and beyond Hodaks! The staff is super friendly, the diner is super clean and the food comes out perfect and fast. This will now be a new craving of mine.

Incredibly friendly and attentive staff. Drinks were literally filled to the rim at all times. Delicious food. Had waffles and potato pancakes and literally blew my mind. No joke. Highly recommend visiting this awesome restaurant for breakfast! Food took a while to arrive but it was worth the wait.

Speaking of childhood nostalgia, I found myself trying to explain to the bf how awesome Goody Goody was, and, Saturday at 1pm found myself heading over there. Well, they 'close' at 2pm, but we didn't even get a table until after like a 15 minute wait. It was PACKED! But what can you expect, it's Goody Goody on a Saturday. Oh course, what could I order other than chicken and waffles. Ermahgerd- so fluffy! So crispy! How?! Service was great and nothing like crispy freshly fried chicken and the best waffles I've ever had.

Great diner - classic feel and friendly service. Went here for breakfast and ordered eggs, hash browns w/ onions, bacon, sausage and toast. Everything was terrific and the eggs were perfectly cooked to my liking. I only wish they were closer to my house..

My first time eating here today for lunch. The place is surprisingly clean for a diner. We had an amazing waitress, Audrey. She was very attentive and polite. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile. I went with the Chicken and Waffles-5 wings and a whole waffle. I read a write-up in Sauce magazine, been dying to try ever since. The waffles are delicious, served with warn syrup and the chicken is perfectly seasoned!!!!! It's a definite must try!!!!! I can't wait to return for the supreme platter.

Can you beleive that I didn't know this place existed? I'm a born and raised St. Louisan! While visiting a client recently we decided to take a lunch break and visit this place because of the 4 and 5 star reviews on Yelp! When we arrived we were seated promptly and the staff was super courteous. Their menu is extensive but easy to read. I elected for a veggie omelette by itself only. One word: EPIC! It was by far the best omelette I have had in a very long time. Cheese was very light throughout which further enhanced other things like the mushrooms and veggies. The menu also talked a little bit about the history of how long the restaurant has been a staple in the St. Louis community. Bottom line: Go! A yummy breakfast omelette awaits you!

OK, I'm upgrading from 2 to 4 stars. On my last visit, I got the Waffle Platter (see picture). This was THE BEST waffle I've ever had. I added butter/syrup and proceeded to finish my eggs. By the time I was done, the waffle had absorbed the syrup and butter and every bite was just right. It was so light and fluffy. They list out on their menu about 10 different ways they serve their eggs. I imagine it's difficult for most places to actually get the subtle distinctions correct between and over medium and an over easy egg, for example. But this places knows how to do it right! On the waffle platter, I didn't know if I wanted bacon or sausage links, so they let me get a mixture - 1 bacon and 2 links. There are photos on the walls and in the menu of Dan Quayle and (I think) Cedric the Entertainer.

This is breakfast done right. Starting with the coffee. It is good, fresh, and your cup rarely gets empty. I prefer the counter, but you will wait for a table most days of the week. They cook eggs proper to order, the sausage is awesome, and hash browns are to die for. The atmosphere is true diner, and there is a soul to the place. I will always return when in town!

I've been here only twice so far during lunch time and plan to keep coming back as much as possible. Outstanding chicken and waffles. The staff is friendly, the prices are fair and the diner is clean. Parking in the lot can be tough but I've been able to get a spot each time after a few minutes. The diner does get crowded so get there early!

Best breakfast in the country. Period. I travel for a living and have eaten some great breakfast. Hands down this is capital of breakfast town. The customer service is top notch. I overheard our server recite from memory her customers order before he spoke a word. This makes me wish I lived right around the corner. Seriously I will move to St. Louis for breakfast. What will I do with the rest of my day. Just think about breakfast at Goody Goody. Do the right thing and eat here. Today.

5 stars please!! Wonderfully cooked sausage, scrambled eggs and potatoes made my drive through the STL a very pleasant one. The food was delicious. I also had a piece of French Toast with my meal-steaming hot and cooked to perfection. Topped off with friendly staff during a busy brunch hour makes this place top notch!!

Stopped in a couple of days ago for a breakfast on my way back to the airport. I had the biscuits & gravy, medium scrambled & potato/onions. All were VERY good and I can't wait to get back. VERY VERY clean restaurant which is impressive with the amount of business they do.

This sounded like a delicious spot and boy was it ever! It was better than the Chicken and Waffle place that we visited in Chicago however they both had different vibes. This had an All American Feel to it and the service was outstanding. If we come back to St. Louis this will be a definite stop for us and something that I really liked was that they gave us a frosty mug for our milk which was a great touch! The ice cold milk washed down the delicious Belgian waffle and scrumptious chicken leg that I had.

Excellent! Having grown up on the East Coast, I have been to my fair share of diners. Goody Goody's is definitely one of the best diners in St. Louis. Located in North County, I had never heard of it until my fiancee took me there today. It's clean, bright, with excellent service. The food was great - we had eggs, pancakes, waffles, home fries, etc... everything was just as we ordered, and delicious. Great coffee too. Chicken and waffles seems to be one of their specialties, but we didn't try it on this visit. There was a line when we arrived close to 9 AM on a Saturday morning, but it went pretty quickly (about 20 minutes). They're open for breakfast and dinner, closed on Sundays. If you're a diner kind of person, you should definitely check this place out. Whenever I see people lining up for an hour at First Watch in Clayton, maybe I'll suggest that some of them take the short drive to North County for some real breakfast.

I went there for the first time on Saturday after hearing about it for years. The service was exceptional. I ordered the three wings and half a waffle. My husband ordered two eggs, bacon, hash browns, and wheat toast. He ordered orange juice and it was served "Quick Trip style" --a bottle of Ocean Spray orange juice and a cup of ice when ordering orange juice. The food tasted okay, but was not exceptional. Overall, I would give Goody Goody Diner five stars for its impressive history, four stars for its service, and three stars for its food.

This place has been here since the dawn of time (I think) but it's an oldie but goodie! I've been a couple times and have not had a fail on a meal yet. Burgers are great! And pancakes and breakfast foods are wonderful. We did try the chicken and waffles and although the chicken was good - just the right amount of crunch and seasonings - the waffle was just ok. Inside the place is a throw back to the days when diners ruled the land. Servers are pleasant enough and they will keep your old fashioned coffee mug (you know, the big heavy off white ones you could give someone a concussion with if you smacked them in the head with it) filled. I say Goody-Goody is a goodie!

Last week, I was traveling around central Missouri and decided to follow the Yelp! reviews leading me to Goody Goodys. I arrived Saturday morning at around 11am and the line was out the door. Thankfully, I was only looking for a table for one so I was seated after less than 10 minutes. The gentleman was the front was very friendly and welcoming. It took longer than expected to have a waitress come and greet me but the ordering process was quick. I followed the lead of those eating around me and chose the chicken and waffles with an iced tea. It was okay. The waffle was small and presented on another plate, overwhelming an already small table. The ice tea had only a few cubes of ice. Overall, I'm glad I got to visit this St. Louis institution firsthand, but it seems like it's one of those places that is best appreciated by locals who have an emotional attachment, not one looking for outstanding food.

We were in town for a short time (from Florida) and wanted to find an old-timey diner. We found this place, and it was really cool to find out that the diner was located in the renovated shell of the first A&W in St Louis. When we first came in, we were given a push pin and asked to mark where we lived on the map so they could keep track of all of the places they get customers from. We thought that was pretty cool. When we sat down, we looked through the whole menu and were disappointed to find out they didn't offer milkshakes, which we consider a requirement for an old diner. The new owner said that the old diner had done away with them, but it sounded like he was seriously considering bringing them back. I ended up ordering a root beer float since that was the only way I could get anything with ice cream in it. I decided to get the chicken and waffles (since the waitress said that was by far their most popular item), and my husband got eggs with corned beef hash and hash browns with onions. He said the potatoes were bland, but the eggs and hash were okay. My chicken was good; the waffles were nothing special, and I found the concept of eating chicken with waffles a little strange. I don't see the draw. We enjoyed looking at the old pictures on the wall that showed the history of the place. If we lived locally, we'd probably give it another chance and see if we could find something we liked better on the menu. This could be a 4-star once they put shakes back on the menu and switch to old (50s and 60s) music to make it feel more authentic.

This is a St. Louis landmark and I'm so glad I made it there before I read that they'd sold it. Enjoyed every aspect of my experience from the people standing in line waiting for a table to the host to the wait staff to the food. I couldn't eat everything but I believe they have the best fried chicken wings in America. The dining area was spotless and the service wonderful and seamless. I hope the service does not change with the new ownership. By the way, on the day I was there, the owner was helping to serve and I watched his wife treat the wait staff with utter respect and kindness. Those little things mean a lot.
